Four guests are welcome at this spacious, country-style cottage situated in the vibrant village of Caldbeck, close to walking routes and the many sights of the Lake District.
Enjoy a stay in the northern Lake District with its fabulous fell walks and hill climbs to keep your hound happy from start to finish. Set in Caldbeck, about 15.5 miles from Penrith, this two-bedroom cottage sleeps four guests, plus one of their canine companions. Nestled in the grounds of a rectory, it not only benefits from its own private courtyard but also the shared gardens of the large house. Step straight out from your cottage to explore this corner of Cumbria then return home to bask out in the sunshine and to throw a ball for your furry friend.
Make your way in through the porch, where you can towel dry your pup after wet walks and leave his lead along with your footwear. Pop damp gear in the machine in the utility room then head into the lounge to light the wood burner, switch on the TV/DVD, and spend some quality time together after the excitement of the day. Unpack any shopping through in the kitchen/diner, give Fido his fresh cuts from a Cumbrian butcher and prepare something delicious for the human members of the group. Find a king-size bedroom with en-suite bathroom, is also downstairs, as well as a wet room. A twin bedroom and a family bathroom are on the first floor. Wake up to picturesque rural views. Take your furry friend outside to stretch his legs then return to cook a hearty breakfast.
Energetic pups might like to accompany you on climbs up to High Pike, 6 miles away, and Carrock Fell, 5 miles from the cottage. Skiddaw is about 14 miles from Caldbeck. Plan a day trip to Pooley Bridge, 17 miles away, to pick up a section of the Ullswater Way, with its impressive lake views.
