Explore thriving Keswick, stunning Derwentwater Lake and the picturesque mountains beyond with this stylish bolthole with a private garden.
This elegant Georgian cottage is set in a quiet corner of Keswick, yet is less than 0.5 miles from its vibrant town centre, which boasts a fantastic selection of cosy pubs and woof-welcoming eateries. Enjoy morning strolls around Derwentwater, or head further afield to take on Skiddaw or Catbells (both within 5 miles). The cottage has an enclosed courtyard – ideal for your four-legged friend – and a spacious kitchen/diner for entertaining. The cottage sleeps four guests and one hound, making it a great choice for small families.
The property has been decorated in cool pastel tones, which beautifully complement the striking oak flooring and original sash windows. The sunny kitchen is a joy to cook in and opens onto the patio for al fresco dining. The kitchen, with its hard floors and easy access to the garden, is a great place for Fido to set up camp. In the lounge, get cosy in front of the warmth of the wood burner to watch TV whilst the pup naps and the children play with the toys and games provided. The two stylish bedrooms – a king-size and a bunk bedroom – are located on the first floor. The enclosed courtyard is a real sun trap and is a relaxing place to sip a morning coffee, surrounded by pretty pot plants.
Before breakfast, head to Derwentwater for a peaceful dog walk to set you up for the day. Wander along the waterside path to the viewpoint of Friar’s Crag, where you can take in the magical views towards Catbells and Skiddaw. There are many fell walks to enjoy with the woofer in the area but, if your hound is new to climbing, then Catbells is a great option. It’s one of the smaller Wainwrights, yet the views from its summit are still utterly jaw dropping.
