A picture-perfect, stone country hall, dating back to the 11th century, with an abundance of original features, set within exquisite gardens and perfect for hill walks and cycle rides.
The period property creates a unique backdrop for a memorable holiday with family, friends and your three favourite hairy companions. Enjoy woodland walks with the woofer from the front door, or stroll along the peaceful River Esk. You’ll also be just 8 miles from the paw-friendly beaches of the Cumbrian coast. Dine in style in the grand dining room, before relaxing in one of the two elegant lounges. The hounds will be in their element exploring the beautiful, enclosed garden.
Enter the magnificent property via the utility room, where you can store your walking gear. Steps lead from here to the spacious kitchen/diner, with everything you need to whip up a hearty meal for the group to enjoy together in the impressive dining room, complete with period furniture and artwork. Further steps take you to the cosy lounge and a roaring wood burner. Relax on the sofa to watch the TV/DVD, whilst Rover and Fido stretch out on the rug. There’s also a quiet study, where you can take time out to read a book. Upstairs is a second lounge, as well as steps leading to the king-size bedroom with its 300-year-old four-poster bed! Steps lead down to the other bedrooms – a double, a twin, and a bunk bedroom. Outside is an enclosed garden of colourful flowers, lawn, and pond (ensure children and dogs are supervised).
Head to Boot, 1 mile away, to board the steam train of the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. You and your canine buddies can journey through the mountainous scenery all the way to the coast, where you’ll find a woof-welcoming beach for them to charge around on. The grounds of Muncaster Castle (7 miles) are also great for pups, with woodlands and wild gardens to explore and a vast lawn where you can share a picnic.
