This charming cottage is located in Portinscale, just 1.5 miles from the popular Lakeland town of Keswick. From your front door, you and the woofers can explore Catbells, Causey Pike and the Coledale Horseshoe, as well as board the Keswick Launch from Nichol End (0.5 miles). The property sleeps six guests and two canine chums, making it ideal for a family holiday or get-together with friends. You’ll discover handy additions for your furry buddies, including dog bowls and towels, and the outdoor area is fully enclosed.
The property has a reverse-level layout, with a handy ground-floor utility room for storing all your muddy boots and dog-walking gear. Heading upstairs, you’ll find a contemporary living area, perfect for socialising. Curl up on the sofas to watch a movie together or head through the archway for evenings of great food and laughter around the dining table in the kitchen/diner. The property has four delightful bedrooms, with a king-size on the ground floor and a first-floor twin and double. Outside, dine alfresco in the enclosed paved garden, admiring the distant views of Bleaberry Fell, as the pups lounge around in the sunshine.
Head to Nichol End to catch the Keswick Launch, which glides across Derwentwater. You and the woofers can marvel at the spectacular views of Catbells and Skiddaw, and hop on and off at the various jetties to meander along the waterside footpath or share a picnic and dog chew on one of the pebble beaches. Catbells (3.5 miles) is the perfect fell for all the family. As one of the smaller Wainwrights, it requires less climbing than some of its neighbours, yet the views from its summit are still some of the best in the entire national park.
