Once a mill, this cottage is brimming with original features and charm. Cosy up by the wood burner and make the most of your glorious waterside location.
For the ultimate romantic getaway, this beautiful property full of character and charm is a must-stay. Nestled within luscious green countryside and just moments from a winding river, couples and up to two dogs can spend their days exploring pretty paths and trails. The bustling market town of Cockermouth, which is famous for being the birthplace of William Wordsworth, is 3 miles away. The beautiful Buttermere is also nearby and a really lovely place for a leisurely dog walk and spot of lunch.
Your excitable pup will be eager to bound-up the stairs of this former mill building and into the unique living space. Offering a feature wood burner fireplace and plenty of cosy seating, this is a wonderful room for your small group to stretch your legs and paws at the end of the day. Watch your favourite film on the TV as the glow from the fire warms the room and your little friend snores and whimpers in their sleep. If the weather is nice, rustle up a scrumptious plate of antipasti in the well-equipped kitchen and enjoy eating alfresco style on the private balcony. Boasting views over the water, this is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy a glass of bubbly or a morning cup of coffee. When it’s time for bed, an inviting king-size bedroom awaits. There is a bathroom with wc, wash basin and separate bath and shower on the lower floor.
There is no garden at the cottage but a great range of beautiful walks straight from the door. A favourite stroll with locals is the Loweswater Circular, which is a loop trail around Loweswater Lake. While here, it’s worth taking the time to walk the 2.5 miles through the woods to Holme Force Waterfall. This glorious natural wonder, which tumbles past moss covered rocks, is the perfect place for a moment of peace or reflection. If you fancy getting some sand between your toes and paws, the nearest beach is 12 miles away at Workington.
