A wonderful home from home, this cottage sleeps five and is great for escaping to the Lake District with family and friends. There is handy lockable storage for bikes and boats should you be exploring on two wheels or taking to the water.

Set on the outskirts of the vibrant town of Keswick, this delightful property is perfect for walkers – both human and canine – exploring a stunning part of the Lake District. Just a few hundred metres from the peaceful Fitz Park, this bright, relaxing property makes a lovely getaway with ample space for five guests with one pet dog. With Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite Lake both nearby, this pretty property makes a cosy and relaxing retreat for couples and families discovering the stunning vistas, beautiful lakes and lush woodlands of this unforgettable region.

Entering this fresh and airy property the lounge/diner is an ideal space for everyone to unwind, featuring a Smart TV, DVD, gas fire, dining table and a selection of books and games. The light and spacious kitchen has a useful range of equipment, perfect for rustling up all your favourite family meals. Heading upstairs there are three bright and relaxing bedrooms to choose between: a double, a twin and a single, along with a family bathroom. Stepping outside, both the charming gardens have seating: the unenclosed front garden is ideal for a morning coffee, while the enclosed patio garden to the back is perfect for dining alfresco.

Behind the gate, a cycleway and footpath lead to the local park and on to the old railway trail which continues on to Threlkeld (4 miles). Keswick is home to plenty of great dog-friendly places to eat and drink, and dogs are welcome at attractions including the Puzzling Place and the Derwent Pencil Museum. The shores of Derwentwater (1 mile) and Bassenthwaite Lake (5.5 miles) provide some wonderful walks to enjoy. Dogs are also welcome to explore the grounds at Mirehouse (4.5 miles), discover Whinlatter Forest Park (5 miles) and take a steam train trip around Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum (6 miles).

A great place to stay for a holiday in Keswick. Good parking and access to walks. The house had everything we needed. We enjoyed watching the variety of birds in the trees plus a few rabbits that visited the front garden.

Walkers' Rest is a comfortable, warm and cosy cottage situated just a 10 minute walk from Keswick Town centre. We had a very enjoyable week over New Year and found Keswick to be far busier than when we have spent Christmas there. We weren't aware that Walkers' Rest has a garage until we arrived, although we didn't use it as there was ample parking Read morein front of the cottage. The K2T trail runs past the bottom of the garden which was very handy, not to mention busy! Would highly recommend. Hide

Lovely stay, had a small issue which was sorted within half hour, house was in a lovely location 8 minute walk into town through the park, back of house is Threlkeld railway trail which is a beautiful scenic walk, would definitely stay here again

Lovely welcoming cottage, did have a few small issues with cleanliness of which a note has been left for owner and sure these will be dealt with as we have stayed before and its first time any problems and would stay again, cottage in a great position, lovely walks from the door and had no trouble parking on the road.

I would recommend this property. It was comfortable, clean and well equipped. The owner left some milk and flowers for when we arrived. It was very thoughtful.

Walkers rest is in a quiet spot and only 10 mins from Keswick centre , perfect place for walking your dog, right beside the old railway walk to Threlkeld and to Fitz Park which is lovely and so well kept with a little cafe for snacks. The house is well equipped and warm and cosy , we had a lovely stay
