Families and couples will adore this beautiful country cottage nestled amongst the breathtaking landscape of the Lake District National Park, where you can immerse yourselves in the rural tranquillity or visit a nearby bustling town.
Watch your pups run across the grass as you absorb the spectacular scenery from the beautiful gardens at this enchanting cottage at St Johns-in-the-Vale, 5.5 miles from Keswick in the Lake District. Sleeping four guests, and also welcoming a pair of pups with open paws, this gorgeous property could be a veritable sanctuary for a dog-loving family who are keen to escape the hustle and bustle of their daily lives and immerse themselves in natural beauty and tranquillity. Step straight out from the 16th-century cottage to explore your enchanting surroundings or head slightly further afield to follow lakeside walks or climb one of the national park’s many peaks.
Open the door to discover a wealth of original character and a warm welcome for hounds and humans alike. Take the pups through to the kitchen and utility room to replenish their water bowls and dish up their dinner then prepare a tasty meal for everyone else. Sit down to eat in the kitchen/diner then light the wood burner and watch your contented canines doze off, while you watch the TV or a DVD, or perhaps listen to music on the CD player. Have a hot bubble bath in the family bathroom at ground-floor level before heading up to either a king-size bedroom or twin on the first floor. Take the pups out to run in the parkland-style gardens as often as they like. You’ll also find parking for three cars at the cottage.
Exercise furry legs with a 2.5-mile walk to the Castlerigg Stone Circle. Head into Keswick to begin a 10-mile circuit of Derwentwater or to take a cruise out on the lake with your faithful friends by your side. There are many dog-friendly pubs and cafes in the town where you can all take refreshments and rest weary paws before heading home.
