Situated at the heart of a quintessential Lakeland village, well placed for exploring the beautiful countryside.
Settle in for a stay at Threlkeld and watch tails wag with excitement when you strike out through the Lake District’s Glenderamackin River Valley. Up to four guests and two dogs can stay at this comfortable, three-bedroom home which is 4 miles from Keswick and has magnificent walks right on its doorstep, as well as glorious mountain views. Plan trips out to Ullswater, Thirlmere and Derwentwater, with their lakeside walks. Return to the cottage to let your happy hounds run free on the stretch of common land next to the property.
Open the front door, give muddy paws a good rub down in the utility space then pop any towels and blankets straight into the washing machine and tumble dryer. Climb the stairs up to the lounge/diner to unwind together after your latest animal adventure. Watch TV or a DVD in here or simply relax and enjoy the outlook while your furry friends stretch out and dream about their day. Wander through to the kitchen to make a cup of tea or to prepare tasty meals. The family bathroom and two king-size bedrooms are also at this level. Venture up the steep, cottage-style stairs to discover a single bedroom, with an extra pull-out bed, on the floor above. Carry your coffee out onto the shared patio in the morning or throw a ball for your bouncing hounds on the open grass area. Parking is on the road, subject to availability.
Pack a picnic and some doggy treats and head out along the 3-mile Keswick to Threlkeld Railway Trail, which follows the old track route and goes through some tunnels. Venture 5 miles from the cottage to Thirlmere, where you and furry feet can undertake the 10-mile circuit of the reservoir, taking you beside the water and through surrounding fells and forest.
