Escape to the Lake District and enjoy a stay in vibrant Keswick that your furry friends will also adore. This three-bedroom cottage, which sleeps six guests and a pair of their canine companions, is at the centre of the Lakeland town and enjoys access to its many attractions, as well as myriad superb dog walks in the surrounding area. From here, stroll less than 500 metres to reach Lower Fitz Park; walk beside the river or pick up trails for longer fell and lakeside hikes through your dramatic surroundings.
Towel damp or muddy paws in the porch then hang dog leads and jackets, and wander into the cottage. Head through to the inviting lounge to put paws and feet up for a while and perhaps choose a film on the TV with Freeview to watch after dinner. Wander through into the kitchen/diner, where you can whiz doggy towels through the washing machine in the utility space while you prepare hearty feasts for everyone, including the pups. Enjoy a glass of wine at the breakfast bar while dinner roasts and your happy hounds wolf their dinner down. You have a family bathroom, a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, and a bunk bedroom with a TV also at this level. Climb the stairs to the second-floor, king-size room with an en-suite shower room. Spend sunny days out in the enclosed, private garden with your cheerful chums. Dine out here, while the children play in the games room which also has a tumble dryer, and the pups explore. You’ll find parking for one small car at the cottage.
Stroll 1.5 miles from your base to see the Castlerigg Stone Circle. Or, walk less than 1 mile to reach the shores of Derwentwater and follow the 10-mile waymarked path around the lake with your faithful friends by your side.
