For further walking routes and trails, set tails wagging at Whinlatter Forest (9.5 miles), the only true mountain forest in the country. Take to the water and try out kayaking, paddleboarding or canoeing at Crummock Water (5.5 miles) or Buttermere (8.5 miles). Visit the cascading Scale Force Waterfall (6.5 miles) or hike the many peaks and fells in the area including Mellbreak (6 miles) and Grisedale Pike (12 miles).
