This delightful cottage is nestled on a private lane. It has a reverse-level layout and plenty of room for all guests to relax or enjoy socialising together. Head inside and hang up coats and dog leads. Two of the bedrooms and a split-level shower room are on the ground floor, while up the cottage-style stairs is the hub of the home. The kitchen has an AGA, perfect for cooking up a delicious meal for all the family to eat around the dining table. Up another set of cottage-style stairs, cosy up with the dogs in front of the living room’s wood burner and watch a film together on the TV. Situated on a mezzanine level beside the kitchen is a reading nook with a large selection of books. Outside and down some steps is an enclosed garden with lawn space for the dogs to sniff about and sunbathe, as well as three different patio areas and space to dine alfresco.
Portinscale has a pub and a tearoom and is located on the banks of Derwentwater. Visit the marina to try out kayaking, paddleboarding, boat trips or simply take a lakeside walk. Keswick (2 miles) is a fantastic town brimming with an eclectic mix of shops and restaurants, as well as numerous dog-friendly pubs. Set tails wagging and climb two of the area’s peaks, Skiddaw (5.5 miles) and Blencathra (8 miles), where you will be welcomed with magnificent views across the area.
