The nine-bedroom house is also less than 1 mile from the fringes of the Lake District, with its plethora of footpaths to keep tails wagging throughout the break.

Pile into this impressive holiday home, towelling off damp dogs and leaving leads in the cloakroom, with a WC close by. Light the wood burner in the snug then choose a DVD as your pups doze at your feet. Head to the kitchen to dish up doggy dinners and whip up jolly holiday feasts for everyone else to enjoy in the lounge/diner, with its splendid views. Bask in the heat of the wood burner and enjoy music via the Sonos system in here too. Venture upstairs to four double bedrooms, two with en-suite shower rooms, and three twins, one with an en-suite shower room. There are also two family bathrooms plus a shower room, as well as a splendid super-king-size room with an en-suite shower room, balcony, copper bath and Bose music system. A separate coach house has a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, and living space with a TV with Freeview and a wood burner. Spill out into the gardens to explore with your four-legged friends. Discover seating areas, summer houses and a children’s play area, plus parking for up to seven cars.

Plan group excursions to Whinlatter Forest Park, 8 miles away, which the younger and four-legged members of your party will love. Venture 12 miles to Keswick to stretch furry legs with walks beside Derwentwater or to hop on a dog-friendly lake cruise.
