Situated at the foot of Blencathra with excellent road links to Keswick and Derwentwater, this homely abode sleeps six humans and two hounds. Scale the summit from the comfort of your doorstep and leave no stick unfetched, returning for a slap-up meal in the dog-friendly pub next door. Cycling, water sports and even golf are all possibilities in this fantastic region of the Lake District National Park, leaving you with endless opportunities for adventure.
The property is homely and comfortable with a lounge/diner at its heart, providing a restful retreat for your family. The waggy-tailed members will soon take prime position under the table at mealtimes, waiting to help you sample delicious local produce. Your kitchen is equipped with all the essentials for mealtimes, or why not pack up a picnic and eat al fresco in the private patio garden. You’ll also have use of the shared BBQ and picnic area to the rear for special suppers. At bedtime, hose down muddy paws in the ground floor shower room then take your pick of the bedrooms. There are two downstairs on the lower ground floor where you’ll also find a generous bathroom. Completing the property on the first floor is a large bedroom set in the eaves.
Blencathra has several ridges to conquer, and once you reach the highest point at Hallsfell Top you’ll be rewarded with jaw-dropping views at every angle. Down in the valley, Skiddaw Forest and the River Greta provide a natural playground for humans and hounds less than 15 miles away. Weary from your excursions or hungry for more, Derwentwater is an excellent destination for gentle walks and water sports. Fido will love keeping you company on the boats, especially if you round off your excursion with lunch in a tearoom.
