This impressive holiday home is the perfect rural retreat for large family gatherings and celebrating special occasions with friends, along with three canine chums. The property is located on the western fringe of the Lake District National Park, as well as being just 12 miles from the dog-friendly beaches of the Cumbrian coast. The property was designed with entertaining in mind, with a vast, open-plan living area and a dining table to seat all 12 guests. A spectacular shared garden envelops the property, so you can enjoy peaceful dog walks before breakfast.

The stylish property has been carefully furnished with elegant pieces of furniture and chic accessories. At the heart of the home, on the first floor, is the grand lounge/diner. This open space boasts a stunning vaulted ceiling and has seating for everyone to unwind at the end of a busy day, either watching the TV or playing games. Enjoy dinner parties at the large dining table, or dine alfresco at one of the seating areas dotted throughout the shared garden. End the day in one of six bedrooms, ranging from a super-king-size bed to a bunk room for youngsters. The property also has  games room with a pool table and table football. The four-legged members of the group will love the mature garden (just be sure to keep them – and children – under close supervision near the stream).

Pack a picnic and head to Loweswater (5 miles) for a relaxing day, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Go wildlife watching on a walk with the dogs through the woods, before cooling off with a spot of wild swimming in the lake. There’s a cosy pub in the hamlet of Loweswater, for a well-deserved drink afterwards. The Georgian market town of Cockermouth (7 miles) makes a lovely day out. Potter along the pretty high street, before grabbing a bite to eat at one of the many paw-friendly cafes.

Cottage was clean but certainly not spotless. Dusty and cobwebby in the corners. Dishwasher hadnt been emptied. An information folder regarding appliances, heating etc and local area would be useful. The entrance is a tight turn off a narrow lane. Although the lane is quite quiet the traffic that does use it travels quite fast. Be careful when drivRead moreing out too. A great house which worked really well for a group of 11 people. Warm, comfortable and cosy. Could do with another bathroom and better cleaning regime.

An excellent situation fo 11of us to meet up after 5 years.The gardens are lovely, ideal for the dog to explore.The kitchen was very well equipped, & immaculate. Sadly the rest of the house was quite grubby, especially the bathroom, 3 are not enough for 11 people.The furniture & fittings were dusty & cobwebby. Plenty to do in the area, lovely afterRead morenoon tea at Bassenthwaite station was a real highlight,. The house is ideal for a big reunion, need to up the cleaning Hide

Very good, quiet location. Clean, tidy accommodation and lovely garden area. Would recommend to anyone who wanted somewhere for a large group of family or friends.

A lovely house, in a peaceful location but within easy reach of Keswick. Great property for family gatherings. This was our second time here for special birthday celebrations. Seamless booking system, would definitely reccomend.

We were a family of 13 and this place was perfect , perfect location , perfect grounds , perfect bedroom layouts honestly we all had an absolutely fantastic stay and cant wait to come back . We have been away lot of time as a family for birthdays etc and this was the cleanest place we have stayed .

This property needs deep clean and work done to bring it up to standard silly thinks like no clocks work either replace batteries or remove ! needs some tlc on repairs to restore this to standard we had to contact the team on more than one occasion what I will say is the customer service team to respond was fantastic but you shouldnt have to do thiRead mores on the amount of times we had to contact them Hide

We had a thoroughly enjoyable time - a very lazy Christmas for a large family group. The only real downside of the property is that the kitchen is not of sufficient size for a party of 12.
