An inviting village home, set in tranquil Grange, less than 1 mile from the shores of Derwentwater and just 5 miles from the popular Lakeland market town of Keswick.
This beautiful, whitewashed cottage in the Borrowdale Valley is surrounded by stunning mountainous scenery. Be inspired to get out and explore with your canine chums; whether you fancy a waterside stroll around Derwentwater or an exhilarating climb at Castle Crag, the dramatic landscape is guaranteed to get tails wagging. The property has a gorgeous, enclosed garden for dogs to play in and there’s also a cosy wood burner to snuggle in front of on a chilly evening.
The charming cottage has a spacious lounge with magnificent views from the windows at either end. Unwind on the comfy sofa with a good book - as the hounds warm their paws in front of the wood burner - or enjoy a film on the TV/DVD. The kitchen/diner also boasts stunning views of the surrounding fells and has a large dining table where you can all gather for evening meals and to plan your itinerary. There are two double bedrooms and one twin, perfect for families or groups of friends. On a warm evening, dine alfresco on the patio and marvel at your surroundings, as the pups potter around on the enclosed lawn.
The property is just 1 mile from the shores of Derwentwater. An 8-mile circular route takes you around its circumference, past the glorious viewpoint of Friar’s Crag, which juts out into the lake. The climb to the top of Castle Crag (1 mile) is perfect for doggies with little legs, or children, as it’s the smallest of the Wainwrights. However, the views from the summit are still breathtaking, particularly at sunset. Whinlatter Forest (9 miles) is a good option on a summer’s day, with plenty of shade for hot dogs. Follow the many waymarked trails or get the adrenaline pumping on the high ropes and zip wires.
