Soak up the views of the working boatyard and sea from this cosy and tranquil coastal cottage with a warming wood burner, boho-style decor and an ideal quiet location while also being close to local amenities. Spend your time away with your small family sniffing out the nearby coastal walking trails, discovering quiet coves and exploring Polruan and Fowey.

Make yourself at home in the welcoming lounge with neutral-toned walls and tones of red, grey and blue throughout the decor. Sink into one of the Danish-style armchairs or put your feet up on the sofa while Fido curls up in front of the wood burner. Climb two steps to reach the contrasting dark and light kitchen with a ‘U’-shaped fitted unit, a coffee machine plus a rustic dining table for sharing a home-cooked meal with your loved ones. There is also a utility room on the ground floor. Upstairs is a family bathroom, a king-size bedroom.

Also in the village is a canine-welcoming pub, a convenience store and a boat hire service for exploring the area by sea (within 0.5 miles). Pull on your walking boots and head along the South West Coast Path from the village (less than 0.5 miles), which will take you to National Trust Lantic Bay (1.5 miles) and Lansallos Beach (3.5 miles). Catch a ferry across the river to reach Fowey (0.5 miles), where you can find an array of seafood restaurants, independent shops, cafes and the coastal path heading in the opposite direction.

Can't fault the cottage, loved our stay, looking down on Fowey harbour with morning tea/coffee, a lovely start to the day. Slight disappointment that the town trustees have now made the top town car park a pay and display so it's 30 for the privilege of not using your car and using the bus instead. Priorities?
