Hidden away in the northern Lake District, this hideaway offers the perfect place to escape, surrounded by unspoilt countryside and the great outdoors.
Retreat to this exquisite cabin in the beautiful Lake District and bring your four-legged friend with you for the stay. The delightful, one-bedroom, wooden lodge, on a working farm near Threlkeld, some 4 miles from Keswick, makes a perfect base for a romantic, couples’ break. Take your energetic pup for long walks in the Northern Fells; follow a former railway track into Keswick and to Derwentwater or take gentle strolls through your immediate surroundings.
Open the door on to the cosy, glamping pod and let your dog familiarise himself with his new home-from-home. Find the arrangement, with an airy lounge/kitchen/diner/bedroom, works well for the three of you. Prepare romantic dinners in here for you and your loved one to eat at the breakfast bar or out on the veranda as you gaze out towards the mountains. Serve Fido his food too then let him find a quiet corner to doze in while you watch the Smart TV, read your books or decide to retire for the night in your inviting, double bed. Wake up to enjoy a hot shower in your shower room and to take your dog for a quick wander before returning to prepare breakfast. Enjoy the private hot tub to the side of the cabin. Find parking for one car with the cabin.
Walk 2.5 miles from your base to the Castlerigg Stone Circle, which dates back to 3000BC and captures spectacular vistas of the High Seat and Helvellyn mountains. Head to Derwent Water, just over 4 miles away, and attempt the 10-mile circuit around the scenic lake’s shores if you and your pup are energetic enough. Those with particularly fit and youthful hounds might also like to consider tackling the picturesque peaks of Blencathra, 3 miles away, or Skiddaw, 8 miles away. Hike 9.5 miles from the pod to see the famous Aira Force Waterfall, close to serene Ullswater.
