Tucked away in the Somerset countryside, just 5 miles from the vibrant market town of Frome, this detached cottage is perfectly placed for memorable days out with the dog. Set out on foot to explore the local area, stopping for a bite to eat in the village pub, or jump in the car to reach the picturesque Mendip Hills (20 miles) or the Roman city of Bath (20 miles). Back at the cottage, cosy up beside the roaring wood burner, enjoy a long soak in the free-standing bath or tuck into a tasty BBQ in the suntrap courtyard.

Beautifully modernised, this rural retreat boasts spacious and open-plan accommodation with antique furniture and plenty of cosy snoozing spots for four-legged friends. Prepare romantic meals for two in the stylish bespoke kitchen area, where you will find everything you could need including a Nespresso coffee machine for that all-important pre-walk caffeine hit. When it’s time for bed, climb the spiral staircase to the beautiful king-size bedroom, and spa-like bath and shower room in the eaves. Outside, the enclosed patio garden is a wonderful spot for enjoying al fresco drinks and meals together in the sunshine or under the star-filled sky.

Head out on foot with your four-legged friend in tow to explore the unspoilt countryside, passing the medieval Nunney Castle (1.5 miles) along the way. For the cosmopolitan canine, the vibrant market towns of Frome and Bruton (8 miles) both offer a host of independent boutiques and cafes to choose from. A little further afield, the Mendips are a popular choice among walkers and cyclists alike, home to spectacular gorges, rocky outcrops and ancient monuments high up on hilltops. Or, for salty sea dogs, the north Somerset coast is just 32 miles away, where you will find dog-friendly stretches of shore in and around Weston-super-Mare.
