The property is set in an elevated position overlooking the River Taw and is within easy reach of some of North Devon’s most magnificent woof-friendly beaches. The cottage is also just 3 miles from the quaint village of Braunton, where you’ll find delicious independent eateries and cute boutique-style shops, many of which welcome four-legged visitors. From Braunton, you can easily access Braunton Burrows - a vast expanse of sand dunes that make the perfect doggy playground.
Enter the charming cottage via the hallway, where you can park your sandy boots, before heading up the step into the bright kitchen/diner. This spacious area has a large dining table to enjoy mealtimes together and ample room for the dog beds. After dinner, relax on the corner sofa in the lounge and watch a film on the Smart TV or choose a boardgame from the games cupboard. Upstairs, as well as the two bedrooms, you’ll also find a little snug with a massage chair and bean bags – the ideal spot to curl up with your favourite book on a lazy afternoon. Outside, there’s a sloping lawn where the hounds can run around, as well as a BBQ and outdoor furniture to enjoy relaxed evenings together in the Devon sunshine.
Take the time to explore Braunton, sampling the tasty fish and chips or tucking into a hearty pub lunch. The Great Field, on the edge of the village, is ideal dog-walking territory. A network of footpaths crosses the traditional medieval farmland, which dates back to the 1200s, and provides delightful views over the village. Beyond the Great Field is Braunton Burrows, a UNESCO designated biosphere reserve with a rich diversity of plants and wildlife. Let Rover and Fido lead the way across the dunes to Saunton Sands – a 3.5-mile beach that welcomes woofers all year.
