With ample opportunities for cycling along quiet country roads, and fells, dales and valleys just waiting to be explored by avid walkers, outdoor enthusiasts on two and four legs will be in heaven. Enjoy on-lead walkies at Hutton-in-the-Forest (14 miles). The closest Lake District water body is Ullswater (14 miles) where you can enjoy a lake cruise. The walks around the lake and up into the surrounding fells are as numerous as they are beautiful – you will be spoilt for choice. Penrith (9 miles) has a variety of traditional shops and sophisticated arcades, as well as a choice of pubs, restaurants and cafes.
