This cosy and comfortable semi-detached cottage situated in a pretty Devonshire village is a great base from which to enjoy the North Devon coast.
Devon is the perfect destination for family holidays with your four-pawed sidekicks by your heel. With miles of golden sands, crystal clear oceans and dramatic countryside close to home, fill your days with strolls, sandcastle building and stick chasing galore. Tucked a mile outside of Woolsery, head into the village where a welcoming community offers a delicious gastropub and a fish and chip shop.
Behind the shared front garden, the gate leads you inside this home-from-home where exposed beams and a wood burner create a welcoming ambience. Step up and inside and first things first, find a hiding place for your pup’s treat jar in the kitchen/diner which has a subtle country feel. Take a mug of tea through to the lounge where you can choose between the window seat or the comfortable sofa, and settle in front of the Smart TV, moving only to stroke your pup. Turn the space into a cosy haven by lighting the wood burner and spend a quiet night watching the flickering flames. Outside, the enclosed garden is a haven for birdlife, so take a tipple outside and enjoy al fresco drinks with your eyes peeled as those with wagging tails sniff new scents safely. A pair of charming bedrooms reside up a flight of steep stairs and one is treated to a TV for the perfect lazy morning.
After wandering the local village, venture further afield and take to the South West Coast Path- a treat for pups and owners with breathtaking views and fantastic stick chasing spots. Begin 5 miles away on the cobbled streets of Clovelly before hiking to Hartland (7 miles) where dramatic landscapes, rugged cliffs and the tumbling falls of Speke’s Mill Mouth await. Cross the border into Cornwall and visit the dog-friendly sands at Duckpool Beach (15 miles) for a day filled with sand and sea.
