Sitting on a working farm in the heart of the Scottish Borders, this wonderfully quirky detached Fjordhaus boasts fabulous views in every direction. Sleeping six people over three bedrooms and welcoming two faithful friends, it’s the perfect bolthole for a family or group of friends that wants to explore the beautiful borderlands with their pups by their side. Your dogs will adore running free in the enclosed garden during the day and snuggling up in front of the wood burner at night.
After a glorious day romping around the Scottish countryside, return to your rural retreat. If you have any muddy paws to deal with, head to the utility room and you’ll find a wet dog area. Next, make your way out to the housed sauna and enjoy some quality pampering time. Later, head to the open-plan living room/kitchen/diner and cook up a storm for your loved ones. Eat together in the dining area, or step through the patio doors to the large decked veranda, fire up the charcoal BBQ and dine alfresco. After dinner, snuggle up beside the fire pit and watch the stars come out; watch your favourite TV shows in the living area while your pups snooze in front of the wood burner; or head to the games room to play table tennis. At the end of the day, there are three lovely bedrooms upstairs to choose from.
Take your pups for a stroll around the gardens at Floors Castle, the largest inhabited castle in Scotland. There are water points and treats available for dogs in the castle’s cafes. Further afield, take them on a historic walk around Berwick Ramparts (26 miles). The views are great and there are a few good dog-friendly pubs in town to relax in afterwards.
