Charming country cottage with stunning views and wonderful sunsets. Plenty of walking, sightseeing and local attractions within easy reach. Perfect for a family, couples and horse lovers.
Animal lovers are sure to adore this lovely barn conversion set on a working farm in the wilds of Northumberland. Sleeping four people over two bedrooms and welcoming three faithful friends, this property is perfect for small families or groups of friends who want to explore the countryside with their trusty pups by their side. And as the owners provide horse training, this charming country cottage is especially popular with horse owners!
Step inside and head towards the open-plan living room/kitchen/diner, where you’ll find lovely high ceilings, exposed beams and original artwork. After those long country walks, your pups will adore stretching out in front of the wood burner in the floor-to-ceiling feature fireplace that separates the kitchen/diner from the living room. The kitchen has dual-aspect windows, so you can see both the side garden and the riding school arena while you’re cooking. Enjoy your meal around the dining table, or head outside to the patio and dine alfresco. After dinner, curl up and watch your favourite TV shows in the living area before heading upstairs, where you’ll find two lovely bedrooms. The master bedroom has a large floor-to-ceiling window where you can sit and enjoy your morning cup of tea, while the pretty second bedroom overlooks the horse-training arena.
Take your pups on a stroll to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne (22 miles). As this tidal island is cut off by the tide twice a day, check the tide timetable before you head off. It’s a 3-mile walk to the island from the village of Beal. Alternatively, enjoy a walk with your pups in Northumberland National Park (7.5 miles). Treat yourself to an after-dinner stroll there and you can gaze up and see the stars in some of the clearest skies in Britain.
