This wonderful stylish detached cottage is nestled in a rural position with breathtaking countryside views, a wood burner and a fully enclosed garden with a summer house to enjoy.
This fabulous cottage, just 17 miles from the coast in the beautiful Scottish Borders, sleeps four guests and two hounds. The area is a paradise for dog walkers, with the coast-to-coast Southern Upland Way within easy reach (join it at Longformacus, just 3 miles from the property). Wander around the pretty fishing village of St Abbs (17 miles) and let the pups charge around on the sand at Coldingham Bay.
Enter the cottage via the hall, where you’ll find ample room to store all your walking gear. From here, move into the warm and inviting lounge, with its plump sofa and armchairs, and soft lighting. At the end of a busy day, relax in here in front of the Smart TV, with the woofers stretched out in front of the roaring wood burner. The outside space at this property is fantastic for four-legged guests, as the area is fully enclosed and has a lawn and mature borders for them to sniff and explore. For the humans, there’s a BBQ, summer house and seating area where you can unwind and take in the spectacular countryside views.
St Abbs is full of character and charm, with a rugged and windswept setting and quaint fishermen’s cottages leading down to the harbour. After a potter around the village, follow the Berwickshire Coastal Path for 1 mile to Coldingham Bay, where canine visitors are welcome all year (on leads in summer). The magnificent grounds of Floors Castle (23 miles) are well worth a visit during your stay. Stroll around the colourful formal gardens, wander through the woodlands and grab a bite to eat at the cafe, where you and the pups can sit outside.
