The stylish property, in this picture-postcard Lakeland village, is less than 100 metres from the popular racecourse, which has a busy diary of events and races throughout the year (woofers welcome on leads). The property is within easy walking distance of many paw-friendly restaurants and cafes, all of which serve Cartmel’s delicious, world-famous sticky toffee pudding! The stunning gardens of Holker Hall make a lovely doggy day out and are just 2.5 miles away.

A few steps lead to the front door of this fabulous property and into the cosy lounge, with its plump sofa and armchairs and roaring wood burner. The luxurious accommodation is chic and stylish, with careful attention paid to quirky design features and elegant accessories. As well as the lounge, there’s a snug where the pup can slink off for a little afternoon doze. This room has a Smart TV and is also great for children who want a bit of independence. The sleek kitchen is the perfect place for the hound to set up camp, as patio doors lead from here to the enclosed garden. The outdoor area is a real sun trap and the ideal spot to enjoy al fresco dining on a hot summer’s day.

It’s easy to while away several hours pottering around the grounds of Holker Hall. Rover will love sniffing around the gardens and woodlands, whilst you admire the majestic water features. Afterwards, find a sunny spot in one of the picnic areas or grab a bite to eat in the woof-friendly cafe. For a breath of sea air, head to Grange-over-Sands (2.5 miles). You won’t find a beach, as such, but there’s a gorgeous, long promenade to stroll along with an ice cream, admiring the views over Morecambe Bay.

I would recommend that you do provide one for, future guests. I was locked in the house through a misunderstanding. Under health and safety I would strongly advise that a second key is provided.
