Call this charming cottage home and wake up to picture-perfect views of the North Yorkshire countryside. After days enjoying walkies in the Esk Valley and beaching it at Whitby (16 miles), return home to soak up the sun in the south-facing garden or cosy up inside and throw a log on the open fire. Sleeping seven over four bedrooms, treat your pups to a holiday full of new stick-chasing spots and enjoy quality time together.

Steps lead to the front door and into the heart of the home. The open-plan lounge/diner has a pair of perfectly positioned sofas which sit in front of the open fire. With a cosy rug for tufty-pawed guests, settle as a family and enjoy time in front of the Smart TV. If you fancy some peace and quiet or want to avoid being eyed up for treats, head through to the snug where there is further seating and a selection of books. When tummies rumble, set tails wagging in the kitchen and rustle up tasty tit bits in this bright space which has a handy coffee machine for early morning starts and a washer/dryer. A trio of bedrooms reside on the first floor whilst the characterful master king-size is accessed via narrow steps to the second floor and has sloping ceilings. There is off-road parking and bike storage.

Enjoy your location in the village of Danby, which is surrounded by tracks to walk, cycle and scamper. Make the most of the local pub, bakery and shop and keep your cupboards well stocked with local produce. Hop on a well-trodden trail from your door or make the half-mile journey to the Moors National Park Visitor Centre which is a great starting point for many explorations. Treat pups to a day at Whitby West Cliff Beach which lies 14.5 miles away.

The cottage was wonderful - very relaxing and comfortable. Lovely bedding and beautiful wool blankets dotted about the place. The view from the front for the cottage is out of this world and really could not be beaten. The cottage had a very loved feel and there were ample towels, cutlery, crockery and pans. There is also a cupboard full of oils, sRead morepices, herbs, etc, along with complimentary tea, coffee, decaf coffee and sugar - all very greatly received and appreciated. So relaxing. Hide

Great little cottage in a really nice location. Friendly local pub and bakery/cafe within easy walking distance. Also Danby has a station on the Esk Valley Railway, again within walking distance. Very happy with our stay.

Fabulous quirky cottage. We were made to feel extremely welcome. The cottage was very well equipped with everything we could possibly need. We could walk straight from the door, and Whitby was a short drive with other beaches were even closer. It is a good central location for exploring the surrounding area. The Duke of Wellington pub is a short waRead morelk away, as is the village bakery, both of which are well worth a visit. It was also a perfect base for our daughters wedding at Danby Castle. Hide

Excellent location we found areas within a 20 minute drive for trips to Whitby, Staithes on the cost had some interesting properties and shops. Cattersty Sands near Skinninggrove is an excellent quiet beach for dog walking. Bakery in village will bake croissants for you if you pre order. Property is well equipped, very quiet and warm. We had such a lovely time staying in The Briary, it was a perfect location and we knew about the steep steps before we booked. It is a lovely house, very spacious yet cosy and very well equipped. Delightful comfortable well equipped quirky cottage in a lovely village. The Danby Bakery and tea room is a must and the Fox and Hoinds pup in the next village worth a visit both establishments serve delicious food.

Lovely, well equipped cottage in beautiful location. Village has a great little shop selling sandwiches, cakes, eggs, snacks open 8.30 -4 Mon to Sat. Locals very friendly. Used both the pub in Danby and the pub in Ainthorpe. Good meals. Book ahead. Limited rail service can be used for linear walks.
