There is no shortage of walks to enjoy with the woofers directly from your doorstep, or you can visit one of the many paw-friendly local attractions, such as the impressive grounds of Chatsworth House (7 miles).

After dinner, relax in the comfortable lounge, with its plump sofas, beautiful, exposed beams and roaring wood burner – the perfect dozing spot for the hounds. Outside, the enclosed garden boasts a sloping lawn for the pups to play on, as well as a delightful patio area where you can sit with a glass of wine and admire the stunning views over the Lathkill Dale.
The cottage lies within walking distance of the pretty market town of Bakewell (2 miles). The town has an idyllic setting on the banks of the River Wye and is made up of elegant stone buildings, creating photo opportunities around every corner. The town is well equipped for walkers and their four-legged companions, with many independent shops and eateries welcoming furry guests. There’s also a popular outdoor market every Monday. From here you can join the traffic-free Monsal Trail, which winds its way through some of the Peak District’s most spectacular limestone dales.
