Spacious and comfortable with a simple colour palette and tasteful decor, your holiday abode is comfort personified. Light the wood burner in the lounge and snuggle down with a bowl of popcorn and a family film, letting Rover dream of chasing rabbits from his cosy spot on the fireside rug. The impressive kitchen/diner is stylish and generously equipped, complete with a feature spiral staircase and a breakfast bar for those leisurely mornings sipping coffee and planning your day. Two of the bedrooms are tucked on the ground floor along with a shower room, and the master bedroom upstairs has vaulted ceilings and a superb bathroom. Outside, the garden is a wonderful space on sunny afternoons.

 

A short 11.5-mile drive will bring you to historic towns such as Barnard Castle, a pleasant day-trip destination with antique shops, eateries and the impressive ruins of a once-grand castle. Home to the Kynren festival, Bishop Auckland, 5.5 miles away, is brimming with independent shops alongside a castle, a 150-acre deer park and several art galleries and museums to tempt visitors of all interests. For those who are looking to reconnect with nature, the North Pennines are a beautiful place to explore with your waggy-tailed companion, starting at the southern gateway of Middleton-in-Teesdale, 15.5 miles away.

Spotlessly clean cottage!! Excellent hosts nothing too much trouble, lovely family !!! Location very peaceful and was excellent for our dog to enjoy. Ideal location for exploring County Durham. Pubs in the village of Ramshaw are closed however the Cross Keys in Hamsterly was lovely with excellent food . Just what you need after a lovely walk in theRead more forest. A visit to Kynren pageant is definitely worth going to. We would definitely recommend this cottage. Hide

Wow well worth booking this cottage for a stay in County Durham, this charming lovely cottage was home from home with one exception, it was spotlessly clean. Really central to most places to visit with shops 15 mins down the road yet set in a quiet rural location. The beds were really comfy and the bath was lovely for a soak after walking up and doRead morewn hills as was the shower. Beautiful courtyard walled garden with seating to sit and read and have a cuppa. We wouldnt hesitate coming back here Hide

We (5 adults and 1 golden retriever) have just returned home from Dandelion Cottage & this place is amazing. Friendly welcome, spotlessly clean, very modern, well equipped, comfy beds & beautiful location. Welcome pack was a nice surprise. The only downside was finding out on arrival that the dog was only allowed in kitchen and lounge and I really Read morewould have appreciated knowing about these restrictions prior to booking as pet friendly was our main objective. The cottage is very modern and lovely. Set in a beautiful and peaceful surrounding. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Lots of places to see, and well worth a visit.
