Thoughtfully converted former stables which now provides a truly wonderful holiday home for a small family or couples with unspoilt views across the countryside and within easy reach of the coast.
This stylish property is in the heart of Suffolk, surrounded by gorgeous countryside and less than 30 miles from the coast. The property sleeps four guests and two hounds, making it ideal for a couples’ retreat or small family getaway. For some fabulous walks to enjoy with the woofers, head to Dunwich, where you’ll find a paw-friendly beach and peaceful heath. You’ll also be just 26 miles from the historic town of Bury St Edmunds.
The converted barn has an open-plan layout, with ample space for you all to spread out during the holiday and for the pups to set up camp. Exposed beams and chunky wooden features give the barn a rustic feel, offset with modern furniture and chic accessories. The bright and light lounge/kitchen/diner is the perfect place to unwind at the end of a busy day; sink into one of the plush sofas with a glass of wine or enjoy a meal together around the dining table whilst the hounds potter around on the patio. Alternatively, on a summer’s evening, dine alfresco and soak up the tranquil surroundings of the Suffolk countryside.
The shingle beach at Dunwich is the ideal playground for your furry friends. The beach welcomes four-legged visitors all year and there are some lovely walks from here, along the beach to Walberswick or across the ferry (pups permitted) to Southwold. The National Trust heath that runs alongside the beach is a wildlife haven, with many rare species to admire. It’s wild and dramatic and a real must if you’re in the area. Just be sure to keep the furballs under control. Head inland to the historic town of Bury St Edmunds. There are some wonderful shops and eateries that welcome pups (look out for the pawprint logo), as well as the paw-friendly Abbey Gardens.
