Situated on a rural farm in the Scottish Highlands, this quirky wooden lodge with stylish and contemporary interiors is perfect for a family with two canine companions who are seeking a tranquil getaway in nature. Wake up to sea views and stroll along the cliff tops while staying in this unique property. Blow away the cobwebs on long scenic hikes, discover quaint villages and visit the nearby sandy beaches.
Enter the lodge through the glass doors and make yourself at home in this bright and well-organised open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Benefitting from the far-reaching sea view through the glass windows and doors is the lounge area, where you can put your feet up on the plush ‘L’-shaped sofa. Muster up a home cooked meal in the sleek contemporary kitchen with dark cabinets, wooden surface tops and a breakfast bar. There are two bedrooms in the lodge – a king-size and twin room, both are finished to a high standard. The shower room boasts an anti-mist mirror and automatic lighting. Outside is a wooden decking with furniture, a fire pit and a hot tub.
It’ll be hard to tear yourself away from the lodge, but it will be worth it for the scenic hiking trails along the cliffs and through the Aldie Burn forest (9 miles). For a day playing in the sand and swimming in the sea, head to Balintore beach (7 miles). Bring your binoculars to RSPB Nigg Bay (3 miles) for wildlife watching in the mudflats and salt marshes. Travel by ferry to the town of Cromarty (3 miles) and visit the museum before stopping for a bite to eat at the cafe or bakery.
