Located in a picturesque village in the heart of the Peak District, this traditional cottage provides warm, welcoming and cosy accommodation for five guests, with ample space for two canine companions. The property has been lovingly updated to make a delightful holiday home retaining many original features including exposed ceiling beams, a window seat, stable doors, stone floor tiles, wooden floorboards and a warming wood burner set in a stone fireplace. Next to a friendly pub, this idyllic property is perfect for eager walkers exploring the stunning countryside of this magnificent national park.

Entering this pretty cottage, you will find the spacious and inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which sweeps round in a U-shape. The pleasant and attractive lounge is an ideal space to relax in front of the wood burner with a good book or a movie on the Smart TV at the end of the day. The room leads, via the charming dining area, round to the fully equipped kitchen which is a pleasure to cook in. A delightful snug features a Smart TV and PlayStation 4, making it a great spot for kids to escape to. Upstairs there are three light and cheerful bedrooms and a stylish family bathroom. Heading outside, the courtyard offers seating perfect for enjoying a morning coffee.

Full of charm, character and buildings dating back to the 17th century, the lovely village of Litton makes a fantastic base for exploring the Peak District National Park. Dog-friendly attractions nearby include Ladybower Reservoir, the gardens and park at Chatsworth (both 9 miles), Mam Tor (10 miles), Treak Cliff Cavern in Castleton (8.5 miles) and The Heights of Abraham (16.5 miles). Popular walks include the Litton Loop and the Limestone Way. There are plenty of pet-friendly places to eat in nearby Bakewell (7 miles) and Buxton (9 miles).

  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £200 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £25. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

Was a beautiful cottage, with everything we needed. Really well placed next to a great pub and with lots of really nice walks on the doorstep or a short drive/bus ride away.

This is a beautiful cottage located in an idyllic location. So many walks from the doorstep. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable and a great place to stay. Only 14 seconds from the front door to the bar is an added bonus.

Our party of 4 had a wonderful week staying at Tallan Green. The hot, sunny weather helped but the countryside is so beautiful as are the local towns and villages. Tallan Green itself has its' drawbacks, at least for 4 elderly people that are not as flexible as they would like to be and one of which is 6ft. 3ins. tall. There are a couple of low beaRead morems around that left my lofty friend with some souvenirs to remember them by, the en-suite is quite small but the Red Lion is wonderful. Hide

Lovely, comfy, characterful cottage in very welcoming village. Easy access to local walks and short car ride to others in the northern Peaks. Cosy pub with great beer and food just next door. We'd definitely like to come back again.

Very comfortable and spacious property in a great location. Litton is a cosy, quiet village with close proximity to walks, popular villages/towns and ideally situated in the Peaks to get to most attractions. Cottage had everything you could need and felt very homely.

Very well appointed cottage in a lovely village and with an excellent and friendly pub right next door (no noise as no shared party wall!). A great base for walking the the lovely (and endangered) Cressbrook Dale and for cycling the wonderful converted railway tracks. We'd especially recommend the Monsal Trail, the Manifold Trail and the TissingtonRead more Trail, which have very varied landscapes through stunning gorges and tunnels; down lush wooded valleys and over rolling dales. The location is fabulous and is very central for exploring the peaks. The people in the pub, shop and around the village were very friendly. The cottage was lovely with everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. The cottage was very good for our arthritic dog who didn't find the floors slippery and loved the provided bed and biscuits! I throughly recommend Tallan Green - the standard throughout is excellent, furnishings, kitchen equipment etc all of highest quality. Tremendous location, shop, pub and villagers all very welcoming.

Lovely cottage that is very well equipped and absolutely perfect location. The beds are comfortable and it has a very homely feel. Good selection of local pamphlets provided to see what is around the area. The pub next door is very friendly with fantastic food.
