This spacious property, in a fabulous rural location, sleeps four guests and two canine pals and is perfectly positioned for exploring coast and country. Seaside gems, such as Bude and Boscastle, are within 21 miles of the cottage, yet it’s just 12 miles to the fringe of Dartmoor National Park. Here, you and the pups can explore mile upon mile of footpaths through the wild and rugged landscape.
The cottage is tastefully decorated in a contemporary style, but still retains many of its original features, such as the beautiful stonework going up the stairs. Gorgeous wooden floors run throughout the property, adding character and also making it easy to deal with muddy pawprints. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is bright and airy, with ample room for dogs to spread out while the two bedrooms can be found on the first floor. On a summer’s afternoon, throw open the doors to the terrace and enjoy some indoor/outdoor living. The beautiful, enclosed terrace is the ideal place to sit with a morning coffee, before enjoying a gentle stroll with your four-legged friends around the grounds or giving them a good run in the paddock.
Head to the coast for quintessential seaside charm. The popular resort of Bude is just 19 miles away and here you can spend the day on the fabulous sandy beach (dogs on leads during the day in summer), stride out along the canal’s towpath or embark on a windy walk high up on the clifftops. Alternatively, journey to Tintagel (22 miles). This picturesque village is steeped in myth and legend, thanks to Tintagel Castle which was allegedly the birthplace of King Arthur. You and the hounds can explore the ruins before joining the South West Coast Path for a fascinating walk past local former slate quarries.
