Celebrate in style at this magnificent manor house set on a private estate in Alnwick. It’s made for entertaining, whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or hosting a Harry Potter-themed party. Up to 18 people and two canine companions can have a magical time at the former home of Victorian fishing magnate William Hardy. With an abundance of luxuries including four-poster beds, roll-top baths, a grand piano, butler’s kitchen, hot tub and sauna, it has everything you could want for a truly memorable holiday.
Scamper up a few stone steps to enter the property, please note the main entrance is at the back of the property, which has been lovingly maintained with rich fabrics, sumptuous furniture, sparkling chandeliers and antiques to retain its opulent character. There are several rooms to relax in, whether you’re taking tea in the conservatory, devouring a good book in the reading room or basking in the glow of the open fire in the lounge. When dinner is served, gather in the grand dining room and open a bottle of fine wine. Afterwards, enjoy a good old-fashioned singsong around the piano, perhaps accompanied by a chorus of barks! Each bedroom has its own TV and seating area, as well as an en-suite bath or shower room. Outside, through the gate beyond the private patio with hot tub and sauna, the enclosed garden is a lovely space for children and dogs to play.
Alnwick Castle is just 1 mile away, which Harry Potter fans won’t want to miss thanks to its starring role in the films. While dogs aren’t allowed in the grounds, there’s a path called The Pastures that gives a magnificent view of the castle from the River Aln. Happy hounds can run free on the sandy beach at Alnmouth (4.5 miles), while the Simonside Hills (15 miles) offer epic walks in the wilds of Northumberland National Park.
