Deep in Cumbria’s Eden Valley, this romantic retreat serves two guests with comfortable interiors and superb views – and it’s dog-friendly, too! The purpose-built micro-lodge is a top-dog choice for those eager to explore the coast and countryside on foot or four paws, offering close proximity to the Lake District National Park (10 miles), the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (12 miles) and the Cumbrian coastline (24 miles). For older pups who prefer gently strolling around cobbled streets and stopping to enjoy a bowl of water in old-timey country pubs, Carlisle (11 miles) and Penrith (7.5 miles) are a drive away.
You’re greeted on arrival with a large grassy space outside the property, a space for Rover to stretch his legs after a potentially long drive. Also outside, find a delightful, decked space with sun loungers and a hot tub. Just be aware that the outdoor offering is unenclosed, so pets should be watched. Stepping inside, the dynamic space has been consciously designed to make the most of the room, complete with a sofa-come-double bed in the lounge/bedroom. Next door to the all-encompassing living space, find an extremely spacious bathroom with a sumptuous rainfall shower, the very best place to stand and soak after days of never-ending rural walkies.
Speaking of walks, you’re well-positioned to sniff out adventure in some of the Lake District’s prettiest spots, including Ullswater, just 13 miles away. Offering an abundance of trails for your pet to sniff their way around, this area is home to endless wildlife and the Aira Force waterfalls (15.5 miles) too. Also close to here, the mighty mountain of Helvellyn (21 miles) invites energetic doggies to bound all the way to the top to take in miraculous views of the surrounding national park.
