This graceful barn conversion is the epitome of country cottage charm and boasts an idyllic location in the village of Llangorse. Sleeping six guests across three bedrooms plus space for two furry amigos, this elegant retreat is perfect for a family getaway or long overdue catch-up with friends. Crash through leaves and sniff hello to local wildlife as you follow the tranquil trail around Llangorse Lake (1 mile), then stretch out to scoff a post-walk treat in front of the inviting wood burner.

Stepped in history, this 1600s barn conversion features a tastefully designed interior with a sleek neutral colour palette, striking exposed brickwork, and antique-style wooden furniture throughout. Shake off muddy harnesses then scamper into the open plan living area. Pour a tipple and potter in the bespoke farmhouse kitchen complete with wooden floating shelves, shaker cabinetry, and a traditional aga stove. Portion out a meaty supper for your ravenous pups, then crack open a bottle of good stuff for a celebratory evening soiree. Feast around the dining table then retire to the wonderfully cosy lounge. Snoozy dogs can stretch their weary paws by the wood burner while the humans sink onto the sofas. Ascend to the first floor to enjoy the airy interior balcony. Slip into the crisp linens of three stylish bedrooms, consisting of a master king-size, a double, and a twin. Outdoors, curious canines can snuffle in the secluded cobblestone courtyard.

Outdoors lovers and hounds with boundless energy can delight in ticking off the four circular walks of ‘Bwlch With Altitude, Fortitude, Magnitude and Solitude’ (within 5 miles). Venture to the traditional watering hole in Crickhowell (10.5 miles) to sip a tipple alongside the dog-loving locals. Jamie, the owner, has thought of everything. His information booklet was full of helpful points on how everything worked in the cottage. The kitchen was well equipped and lots of fridge space. Also walking ideas and pub suggestions. Welcome tray was generous. Jamie is to be congratulated.

Highly recommend staying at Ty Gwilym (also known as Ty Clyd). The pictures don't do it justice - the ground floor is a huge open space with convenient access from the car port (making life easy to get children and dogs from the car to the house via the washing machine :-)). Would have loved to test the fire - but the weather was fantastic. For relRead moreaxing over a glass of wine watching the Olympics after a mornings walk in the wonderful welsh hills - it was truly perfect. Hide

Excellent throughout. Things we loved included the spaciousness, the cleanliness (so many holiday cottages are no where near as clean!), the car port, board games (Azule is a clear side of gaming pedigree!), the Red Lion (excellent pub), the welcome pack, tin foil and other essentials, and, of course, the fabulous location. We will be back.

The cottage was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you need. Plenty of crockery and cutlery and kitchen utensils. Clear directions to the cottage and lots of information about the surrounding area supplied.

The barn is fabulous, great location to get to many of the local attractions, Abergavenny, Hay on Wye, Brecon and the steam railway. The Barn itself is gorgeous - cosy and wlecoming with everything you need for a relaxing stay. We would highly recommend and will definitely be booking again.
