You will walk through oak and ash woodlands arriving at the Witches Pool where the River Enig creates a spectacular waterfall. Close by is the enchanting town of Talgarth with its restored mill, independent shops, eateries and supermarket. The friendly village of Llangattock is just 7.5 miles away, where you can pick up the towpath for the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal which winds its way through the Usk Valley. The iconic Sugar Loaf Mountain (13 miles), with its panoramic views and exhilarating mountain tracks, is guaranteed to get ears flapping and tails wagging.

Here, discover a fabulous selection of paw-friendly eateries as well as walks leading out of the town and up into the mountains. The iconic peak of Sugar Loaf Mountain provides another great day out. Dominating the Black Mountains skyline, a walk to the summit takes you through rugged wilderness on a series of criss-crossing paths, before treating you to breathtaking panoramic views across South Wales. Look out for the buzzards and red kites soaring overhead, too.
