Scamper through the countryside of the Black Mountains to discover this charming property that looks like it has come straight from the pages of a storybook. Cosy and quirky with ample sleeping space for three humans and two hounds, the former barn boasts oodles of home comforts such as a roaring wood burner and cosy soft furnishings. Due to the layout, the property is best suited to couples, but there’s an additional bed if you have a youngster in tow.
Beneath the rustic stone is a traditional haven characterised by whitewashed stone and timber beams. Mind your head as you step over the threshold, letting Fido bag the best spot by the wood burner whilst you descend on the galley-style kitchen to prepare some snacks. Climb the open-tread stairs to reveal a mezzanine-style bedroom complete with a king-size bed, a single bed and ample space for a basket. Completing the property is a shower room, and your generous garden has lots of lawn space shrouded by trees and shrubs. There’s even a separate enclosed area for Rover to roam free. Although you’ll be situated in the same courtyard as the owners, you’ll be guaranteed privacy and there’s off-road parking.
The lack of Wi-Fi is an excellent excuse to really get back to nature, but when you feel the urge to re-join civilisation, nearby Talgarth 2 miles away is a delight to explore with its community-run mill and scattering of eateries. Further afield, Brecon 11 miles away has a treasure trove of shops, galleries and cafes to peruse, ideal for sampling local fare and stocking up on some picnic essentials before embracing the scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park with walks across the varied landscape.
