The perfect place to unwind after a day exploring the mountains, lakes and steeply wooded gorges of the southern Brecon Beacons, enjoy the sounds of the river at this charming stone cottage.
Perched on the banks of the River Tawe on the southern fringes of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this delightful stone cottage offers waterside views to restore your inner calm. It’s ideal for friends or families with older children who want to explore the area’s inspirational landscape of mountains, lakes, waterfalls and gorges with their beloved canine. On chilly evenings, enjoy family time snuggling up on the sofa with your pup curled up at your feet as the wood burner flickers.
Light and spacious, this elegant holiday cottage feels like a real home from home, and you’ll be getting your feet (and paws) under the table in no time. Make a cuppa and catch a few early morning rays in the small sunroom before heading out and about. When you return from your travels, chat about the highlights of your day over family meals in the dining room. If it’s a warm day, sit outside with a picnic in the riverside garden while keeping a close eye on your canine as it isn’t enclosed. Afterwards, retire to the lounge to play a board game or read a book before heading upstairs to one of the four bedrooms. There’s space for a dog bed in the utility room.
Pre-breakfast walks are a joy as you can stroll along the river, which snakes behind the property through wildflower meadows to Diamond Park. For an underground adventure with your faithful friend, drive to the National Showcaves Centre for Wales (7.5 miles). If you fancy a day at the beach, Swansea Bay (16.5 miles) has stretches of sand where dogs can run free year-round, as do many of the beaches on the spectacular Gower Peninsula, including the Mumbles (19 miles) and Three Cliffs Bay (24 miles).
