History and tales of years gone by fill this wonderful village. The Big Pit, Heritage Railway and many more wonderful spots will keep you entertained before you return to settle down in style each evening.

Bring your dogs along with you to this three-bedroom holiday home in Blaenavon and enjoy a Welsh holiday to remember. Head off on picturesque walks from the village, which is a World Heritage Site, or venture out into the Brecon Beacons National Park with your pair of pups by your side. Sleeping up to four guests, as well as two contented canines, this two-storey property also benefits from an enclosed courtyard garden where you and your pup pals can relax out in the fresh mountain air.

Open the front door of this village home and call your dogs through to join you inside. The open-plan lounge/diner has all the creature comforts required for your stay. Watch TV or read for a while in here, with the hounds stretched out beside the wood-burner-effect electric fire. Whip up tasty treats for everyone in the kitchen area with fresh local produce you can sourced on your trips out and about. Dine at the table next door, then bid the dogs goodnight before heading upstairs to either the double bedroom or one of the two singles. The family bathroom is up here too. Take breakfast out in the courtyard garden while the pups pad about. There is parking on the street near the cottage.

There are so many places to set tails wagging in the surrounding area. An 8-mile walk from the village, taking in Coity Mountain and the Dog Stone, may be especially to their liking. Drive or walk just 3 miles to find yourselves in the Brecon Beacons, with its myriad of footpaths and routes. Shop for tasty treats in Abergavenny where there is a great choice of paw-some, dog-friendly pubs.
