Walk out of your door and deep in the Black Mountains for hike to remember. Keen walkers, cyclists and gliders will be in their element at this welcoming abode.
This pretty property, situated in a quiet village just 6 miles from Crickhowell, is perfect for couples or families who can’t bear to leave the pups behind. Sleeping four over two welcoming bedrooms with space for up to three dogs, it won’t be long before you’re off exploring the wonderful Brecon Beacons National Park. Hire a boat for a day with Beacon Park Boats (7 miles) or head out on one of the many dog-friendly walks available from the Brecon Beacons National Park Visitor Centre (18.5 miles).
The property, which is adjoined to the owner’s home, is spacious yet cosy and private. The open-plan living space is fresh and bright; cook up a storm in the stunning, country-style kitchen area or retire to the lounge area and snuggle up on the sofa while the pups snooze by the wood burner. The flooring is a painted wooden laminate, so it is easy to keep clean of any muddy paws. Make sure you take advantage of the fully enclosed courtyard on long summer evenings and fire up the BBQ for delicious feasts, or head to the local dog-loving pub that’s just 1 mile away. Rustic woods paired with black and white tones in the bedrooms create a peaceful atmosphere that will lull you to sleep after a long day out exploring.
Head off to Blaenavon Ironworks (15.5 miles) if the kids are with you as they’ll love visiting the exhibits with their family pups in tow. From there, hop on the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway from the High Level station (16 miles) and take a scenic journey through beautiful countryside; stop off at Garn Lake for a tranquil dog walk. But if you need a bit more adrenaline in your life, head down to Cwmcarn Forest (28.5 miles) where you can go mountain biking, fishing or orienteering – but the hounds might prefer a leisurely stroll along one of the many walking trails.
