Unleash adrenaline-fuelled adventures for the whole family, this spacious former cider house is located in the heart of the Brecon Beacons in the charming village of Talgarth and welcomes a group of up to six plus one bow-wow. Walk straight from the local common along a path that leads to Mynydd Troed, a hill in the Black Mountains that presents the most spectacular panoramas over Llangorse Lake and Pen Y Fan. After a day of roving with Rover, retire to the welcoming cwtch of this characterful cottage, a genuine Welsh retreat.
Let sleeping dogs lie in front of the wood burner as your party gathers together in the cosy oak-beamed lounge, where puzzled and board games adorn the shelves – it’s an enticing space for an evening of relaxation. There is also a second, smaller lounge with TV and plenty of seating, offering an additional space to either socialise or find some peace and quiet. A traditional electric cooker dominates the kitchen, which is a warm and inviting space; dine in the adjoining breakfast room with its traditional farmhouse table, perfect for family mealtimes. There is also a handy downstairs cloakroom. Upstairs you’ll find three spacious bedrooms; two doubles and a family room; all having retained a sense of the old world charm which runs through the entire property. There is also a family bathroom on this floor. The mature cottage garden (enclosed) is quite the sight to behold come the warmer months, with its vivid displays of colour. Here you can enjoy a relaxing cuppa as you take in the pretty surroundings. Dog’s are sure to have a ball as they frolic across the large expanse of the second lawn, which sits just across the lane – this part of the garden however, isn’t fully enclosed but offers plenty of space for a run around from a long lead. There is also space to store away bikes in the garage.
Certainly a place to enjoy outdoor adventures, the immediate area surrounding this ancient cottage offers plenty of opportunity to embark on activities involving your entire pack; explore off the beaten track and stop for a picnic mid-trail, look up and you might even get a glimpse of a Red Kite soaring above your head, or take one of the more popular routes from your doorstep and explore the Pwll-y-wrach Nature Reserve. The Black Mountains Gliding Club is less that 2 miles from the property; book yourselves a glide or simply witness others in the air from the local common. The bustling town of Brecon is situated just 19 miles away and is a great spot for enjoying a pub lunch in a dog-friendly establishment.
