Get away from it all and explore the spectacular Brecon Beacons from this gorgeous rural cottage. As you’d expect, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to walking opportunities, from river and canal-side strolls, to exhilarating hikes and climbs. The beautiful River Usk winds its way through Crickhowell (6 miles) and offers peace and tranquillity in abundance. Alternatively, let the hounds lead the way to the summit of Crug Hywel (5.5 miles) for magnificent mountainous views.
The cottage is set in an idyllic location, surrounded by open fields with distant mountain vistas. A long, private lane leads to the property, offering peace, privacy, and the chance to fully unwind. A warm welcome awaits you inside, where you’ll discover a quaint property full of rustic charm. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is at the heart of the home and provides a cosy spot for you and the woofers to curl up after a long day, to watch TV and warm your toes and paws in front of the wood burner-effect electric fire. Upstairs, find the pretty bedroom which is full of character with a sloping ceiling and exposed beams, just watch out for the restricted head height. Outside, steps lead to an enclosed garden with exquisite views. You’ll also have access to a shared heated indoor pool with a resistance machine (open early April - early November), and stabling is available should you wish to bring a horse. There's a large communal garden area with outdoor seating set within landscaped terraces and raised flower beds, perfect for watching the visiting birds and enjoying the far-reaching views.
As well as the limitless walks in the area, there are some fantastic woof-friendly attractions nearby. Tretower Court and Castle (8.5 miles) showcases 900 years of history, with its stunning Norman tower and medieval court, set out as it would have been for a 15th-century banquet. Spend a lazy afternoon pottering around Crickhowell, exploring its cute independent shops and eateries, followed by a relaxing dog walk along the canal.
