This stylish safari lodge is ideal for a glamping getaway with friends and family. Discover the working farm and explore the Brecon Beacons National Park, then return to soak tired limbs in the hot tub.
This fabulous lodge, situated just half a mile from the centre of the pretty village Talybont-on-Usk, is perfect for guests who want to escape busy daily life and experience country living with their beloved hound in tow. Sleeping six over three chic bedrooms, this eco-friendly lodge is ideal for exploring the Brecon Beacons National Park. Head to the visitor centre (12.5 miles) to use it as a starting point for lots of dog walks and a spot of tea, or take on Pen y Fan (14 miles), the highest peak in South Wales.
The canvas lodge, which is accessed via a step up from the veranda, has a contemporary feel, taking glamping to the next level. The open-plan living area is fresh and bright; the kitchen area makes use of natural wood and dark worktops while comfortable country-style sofas in the living area beckon you to sink back in front of the wood burner, the pup curled up by your feet. In the evenings, bubble away in your private hot tub, chat around the fire pit or even go for a swim in the neighbouring lake. Speak with the owner to arrange a tour of the farm; the children can feed the chickens if they’re brave enough!
Let the kids expel all their energy at the Llangorse Multi Activity Centre (6 miles) while you and the pup watch from the viewing balcony or take one of the trails that start at the centre. If you want to see the stunning views but don’t want to climb, ride the Brecon Mountain Railway (12.5 miles) where dogs can join – if they buy their own ticket! In nearby Crickhowell you can hire a boat for the day at Beacon Park Boats (10 miles) and ride along the canal, looking out for wildlife and beautiful scenery.
