Traditional features blend seamlessly with stylish comfort in this beautiful 19th-century stone farmhouse in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. Set in a secluded complex of properties on a working farm, this home away from home sleeps eight people across four bedrooms and welcomes one canine companion. Sitting at the foot of Craig-y-Cilliau – a Site of Special Scientific Interest – this is the perfect accommodation option for larger groups who enjoy a little privacy, as it can be booked along with the neighbouring barn, which sleeps two and welcomes one faithful friend.
After a day exploring the Brecon Beacons with your canine companion at your side, cook up a storm in the well-designed kitchen and dine with your loved ones in front of the wood burner in the dining area. Alternatively, head out into the garden, light the BBQ and dine in the great outdoors. After dinner, make your way to the living room which features beautiful oak beams and a wood burner for your pup to snooze contentedly in front of. At the end of the day, there are four lovely bedrooms to choose from – one on the ground floor with patio doors that open onto a small courtyard, and three upstairs that are accessed via an attractive iron spiral staircase.
If you’re looking for some local wine and cheese to savour during your getaway, take your pup for a gentle stroll at Sugar Loaf Mountain Vineyards (7 miles). All the outdoor spaces are dog friendly and at the weekend, wine tastings take place in a tent, so pups are welcome to attend. Alternatively, make your way to Castle Meadows (7 miles), where there are some gorgeous walks along the River Usk.
