This dog-friendly property surrounded by the Brecon Beacons will make a happy hound’s day, with hours of walkies in all directions from its doorstep. Leave no stick unfetched whilst exploring the countryside, returning to wipe dirty paws and discard muddy boots in the handy utility room - there is even a garage to store all your outdoor equipment! The views, which are truly breathtaking, can be enjoyed from the comfort of the sunroom, so not even the weather can spoil them.

Reached via some steps, this bungalow is spacious and comfortable, with elegant, country cottage-style furnishings complemented with neutral tones, exposed stone walls and wooden beams. Sink back in front of the wood burner as the kids play a boardgame and your canine curls up by your feet, after enjoying a family meal at the dining table. Wake from cosy bedrooms to enjoy an al fresco breakfast on the patio as the kids and pup stretch their legs in the beautiful, enclosed garden, getting ready for another day of energized fun!

Grab the dog lead, pull on your walking boots and step outside and instantly embark on a trip up Pen y Fan (5 miles), the national park’s highest and most impressive mountain. Splash along the River Usk (1 mile) or try the circular walk at the Usk Reservoir (13 miles). Explore the remains of the Iron Age fort at Pen-y-Crug (6.5 miles) and Llangorse Lake (8 miles) has lovely dog-friendly trails and various boats, knacks and pedalos. Take the Brecon Mountain Railway (16 miles) from Pant to Torpantau, which is another great dog-friendly attraction nearby. We returned for a second stay at Beacons Field to spend another Christmas here with our family at this lovely welcoming house. I love this place, equipped with everything you need for your stay. I cooked a full Christmas dinner rounded off by a relaxing evening spent in front of the log burner with an abundance of logs in the basket. The Christmas Read moretree was up, a lovely touch. We had morning coffee in the conservatory whilst watching the mist lift over the mountains. I expect well be back again! Hide

The place is very good as a base to go hiking in the Beacons. The house in itself is very clean and comfortable, very well equipped overall. We just missed some small things but this is menial, we spend 2 marvelous weeks in there and will probably come back!

This is such a pleasant and comfortable holiday home. The beds were soft and lovely. There were lots of places to sit and relax. The kitchen was large and well equipped, great stove and dishwasher. The laundry and back entry room were perfect for coming home after a muddy walk. The location is excellent, so close to the national park centre and theRead more main road. We would definitely recommend it. One week was too short, we have to come back, soon! Hide

We had a fabulous break in this cottage - so peaceful yet close to town by car. The views of Pen y Fan from the sunroom were breath-taking. The farmer owner was so helpful and friendly - he took us in his land rover to show us the start of our walk and pointed out nesting swallows in his barn to our children.
