This beautiful property, in a rural setting in the depths of the Devon countryside, sleeps 12 guests and three canine companions. Located in a quiet spot on a working farm, you’ll have ample outdoor space for the pups to explore, as well as your own hot tub and games room. The property is just 5 miles from Meeth Quarry Nature Reserve, where you’ll find a wide variety of walking trails as well as access to the popular traffic-free Tarka Trail.
The converted barn embraces open-plan living, creating a lovely social space for entertaining. The accommodation is packed with original features to add character and charm, including beautiful exposed beams and stonework. High ceilings and large windows ensure a bright and airy setting, whilst the cosy wood burner makes a perfect dozing spot for you and your faithful friends. After a long walk, relax your aching limbs in the stylish bath (just watch out for the restricted headroom) or pour yourself a glass of bubbly and sink into the hot tub whilst the furballs play on the lawn. Alternatively, pop some food on the BBQ and spend a relaxed evening of al fresco dining.
Meeth Quarry Nature Reserve is a haven for wildlife, including Exmoor ponies, and has a fascinating industrial past. You’ll find a wide variety of colour-coded trails to investigate with the hounds, past lakes and through woodland. From here you can pick up the Tarka Trail and follow the route of the fictional character, Tarka the Otter. A 6.5-mile jaunt takes you to the nearby market town of Torrington. With its rich history and important links to the English Civil War, it’s an intriguing place. It’s also surrounded by 365 acres of common land, where you can enjoy 20 miles of footpaths through ancient woodland and flower meadows.
