  • Great location on the cobbled High Street 50 metres from the seafront
  • Traditional Grade II listed cottage situated in the heart of the picturesque lower village of Staithes
  • Ample accommodation on 4 floors with a sea view from the top floor master bedroom
Property code: OC-79398

This fabulous seaside bolthole, in the charming fishing village of Staithes, sleeps six guests and two furry companions. With its cobbled streets and characterful fishermen’s cottages, you’ll feel like you’ve wandered straight into a postcard! The long-distance trail, The Cleveland Way, passes through the village; follow it inland through the North York Moors or stride out along the coast towards Whitby and beyond.

The mid-terrace Grade II-listed property offers spacious accommodation and a wealth of original features. There’s a small entrance vestibule where you can store all your dog-walking gear, opening into the large kitchen/diner. This is a great social space where you can all come together to enjoy mealtimes and plan the next day’s adventures. A set of stairs leads down to the cosy lounge. On this level, there is also a snug, where the woofers can retreat if all the socialising gets a bit much. There is no outdoor space, but with a paw-friendly beach just 100 metres from the property, it’s easy to stretch the hounds’ legs before breakfast.

The section of the Cleveland Way from Staithes to Runswick Bay is gorgeous. It runs for 3 miles along the clifftops, boasting spectacular sea views. Bring your binoculars – it’s perfect birdwatching territory. Once you arrive in Runswick Bay, Rover and Fido will love charging around on the beach before you all retreat to the local pub for a hearty meal. The property is on the fringe of the North York Moors National Park, with its breathtaking landscapes and stunning moorland. For a truly unique experience, however, why not venture out after dark? With such low light pollution, it’s one of the best places in the country for stargazing.

There is a small enclosed backyard and a bench outside the front door, but no other outside space. Luggage can be unloaded at the front door, but cars must be parked in one of the public or private car parks at the top of the old village.

  • 3 bedrooms: 1 king-size, 1 double and 1 bunk bedroom
  • 1 bathroom with shower over bath

  • 1 en-suite shower room with WC
  • Electric oven, induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer and 2 fridges (one with icebox)

  • Pubs, Cafés, Shops & Art Galleries all within 50 metres
  • Seafront less than 50 metres
  • Bluetooth speaker
  • Smart TV
  • Highchair & Travel cot (no bedding supplied)

This is a great cottage in the best spot. Being on the Main Street is fab, step outside your door for coffee, cake, fresh bread or cool clothes. The house is really well appointed, we have three sons and they appreciate the space to all have a separate area to relax in. All of the living areas are great, plenty of space to sit down as a family and Read moreuseful area at the back door to let wet clothes or crab lines dry out! This was our third visit and we will definitely be back again next year! Hide

Lovely cottage in an excellent location. Stairs are very narrow but its well appointed and the layout is great for older kids in particular as there are separate dining and sitting room areas.
