This cute cottage, surrounded by a plethora of beautiful countryside walks, sleeps five guests and one pup. Head east to experience the magnificent Northumberland Coast, with its glorious sandy beaches like Bamburgh (18.5 miles away), or soak up the local history at one of the dog-friendly attractions, such as the Berwick-upon-Tweed Barracks and Main Guard (2 miles away).
Enter this quaint cottage through the pretty front garden. On your left you’ll find the cosy lounge, with its roaring wood burner – the perfect spot for the hound to have an afternoon doze. A step up takes you into the hallway and the bright kitchen, which overlooks the rear courtyard. After a fun day of exploring, retire to one of the three bedrooms, which are all tastefully decorated in cool, calming tones. Fido has a choice of outdoor space, with an enclosed lawn to the front of the garden on which to play or a courtyard to the rear of the property, where you can also enjoy a spot of al fresco dining on a warm evening.
Journey along the coast to Bamburgh Castle for a fun day out. Four-legged visitors are allowed within the castle grounds on a lead, and also in the museum, stables and cafe. The setting of the fortress is quite spectacular, overlooking the beach below. After you’ve finished exploring, head down to this dog-friendly stretch of sand for a run-around and a splash in the water. As expected, the walking opportunities in this part of the country are endless. If you fancy a long-distance challenge, take on the 62.5-mile St Cuthbert’s Way, which winds its way to the Scottish Border town of Melrose. You can pick this walking route up 11 miles south of the property.
