This fabulous property, in a quiet location in the pretty village of Meikleour, is the ideal retreat for you, your loved one and your favourite four-legged pal. Enjoy romantic walks through the spectacular Kinclaven Bluebell Wood (3.5 miles away) or hop in the car and spend a peaceful afternoon pottering around the grounds at the magnificent Scone Palace.
This luxurious cottage is packed with elegant touches, including striking feature wallpaper, chic spotlights to create a relaxing ambience and plush soft furnishings. In the evening, rustle up a tasty meal in the stylish kitchen area and enjoy a cosy meal for two in the beautiful dining area. Throw open the French doors and allow Rover to potter in and out to the gorgeous enclosed garden. Or, on a summer’s evening, after a soak in the decedent roll-top bath, dine alfresco on the cute picnic bench, whilst your canine chum explores the pretty garden, which is surrounded by an impressive mature beech hedge.
In spring, the spectacular bluebell wood at Kinclaven is a must. The forest floor is awash with colour, and you can also catch glimpses of rare wildlife, such as the great spotted woodpecker and red squirrels. There’s a lovely circular route – The Ancient Woodland Walk – which takes you through some quite breathtaking scenery. Jump in the car and head to Scone Palace, looking out for Meikleour’s famous Beech Hedge (the highest of its kind in the world!) en route. You and the pup can explore the grounds of this grand property, which was the ancient crowning place of the Kings of Scotland, and enjoy a beverage and one of their famous scones in the cafe’s outdoor seating area.
