If you’re looking for a gorgeous big house for a holiday or to celebrate a special occasion with a group of friends or family, this is a brilliant choice. It’s handy for visiting Peak District towns and country houses, and has bags of space, with four bedrooms and four bathrooms. Best of all, there’s lots of room for two happy hounds to make themselves comfortable, including a cosy spot beside the crackling wood burner.
If you’re celebrating something special during your stay, there’s room for everyone to eat together in the dining room and you can even treat yourselves to a beauty treatment beforehand. All of the bedrooms are a good size and three of them have en-suites (and there’s a family bathroom so no need to fight over bedrooms!). There’s a lovely wood burner in the lounge and deep sofas for chilling. Make yourselves comfortable in here while your pup pals doze in their baskets. An enclosed courtyard at the front with fencing and hedges is safe for your furry friends to run around when they wake.
Close to the village of Darley Dale, there are activities close by for people of all ages and interests, not forgetting any canine companions coming along for the ride. You can set off on a walk from the door, head to Bakewell to eat out, do some shopping, or start a walk from there (5 miles away). Chatsworth House and grounds are worth visiting too (a 5-mile drive), with its dog-friendly café and walks through the grounds. If you do go to Chatsworth, plan a stop in Rowsley or Beeley as both villages have lovely pet-welcoming pubs. The house is also in a great spot to get to Matlock (4.5 miles) and Matlock Bath (5 miles), known for the iconic Heights of Abraham cable car attraction.
